So I was headed to Union Station on the subway nearing the St. Andrew platform, when all of a sudden the train slows down by a lot.  The subway-cart man jumps out of his control box, and runs down to the next cart before hurrying back to turn off the lights and do all those emergency things. He tells us to "go go go" and takes us to the next train box over so that we could reach the platform to get out.

It was a jumper, and everybody was crowding around to see the body underneath the train. Some people from my cart-box train thing had seen the old man walk towards the platform before disappearing under it. The crowd  around it let us know that the body was still twitching.

How sad and creepy is that?

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww........................... omg. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. omg................. that would traumatize me if I were in the crowd and saw it. my morbid curiousity would want to go see, though. alas, taking the ttc bus and go bus, there's not much drama on that.

was there a lot of blood splatter?

and when the body was twitching, does that mean he already died or was it a slow painful death? if i were to kill myself, jumping in front of a subway wouldn't seem like a good idea.

beverley: i didn't see any blood splatter, but the body was already stuck in the gap between two carts, so the blood 'spray' would've probably been in the front of the train. i'm guessing he died instantly since we were going pretty fast. the twitching was probably either the nerves or the electricity from the track
